With their Minneapolis home recognised as a fully fledged bicycle playground, T6 are building a reputation for off-the-beaten-track explores; something which the guys amply demonstrated on recent trip into the Northwoods of Wisconsin, which saw the team testing out both their new Titanium Rando Frameset and the new Standard Race Collection of jerseys.
The Standard Race Collection from Twin Six adds a bit of tech to their usual line of jerseys without going the whole hog of city-center-crit-race-ready-skin-suited-&-booted.
Dubbed The Musky 660, the route wound its way from T6HQ to Copper Harbour in Michigan - a total of 660 kilometres. Having scouted the route, a 24-hour slog was ruled out, yet this wasn't to be a sedate week-long tour: the bikes were adorned with a bikepacking set up which would allow the Randos and Race Collection to do their thing and the guys to cover the distance as quickly as they could. At 6am they rolled out of Minneapolis and hit the hard packed gravel trails and country roads of the Northwoods.
After plenty of flat tyres, gas station feed stops and face-stuffing at roadside eateries, the guys arrived at a gnarly overnight cabin in the Northwoods. The next day they pushed on, making full use of the forest service roads that allowed them to make good time. By 11 pm they were 40 miles from their end point but pushed on to make Lake Wisconsin as the sun rose. The boys were delighted how the bikes and kit had performed - the steel version of the rando is available now, as are the jerseys!
