Roc Loc Air Fit system

Roc Loc Air Fit allows Giro to increase the aerodynamics of a helmet without compromising (too much) on ventilation. Roc Loc Air essentially creates room between the top of your head and the helmet to allow a cool airflow. This movement of air helps to maximise the performance of the other vents. Roc Loc 5 Fit System

Roc Loc 5 is Giro's fit adjustment system - the clicky thing at the back of the helmet if you want to get technical. 40% lighter than previous systems it allows simple, one handed adjustments to custom tune the tightness and fore aft tilt of the helmet quickly.

So what's the InForm Fit System then?

InForm is Roc Loc 5's younger sibling. Comfort has not been neglected and the same adjustments can still be made. The main difference is in weight. For riders looking for pure performance Roc Loc 5 is a must have but for the casual rider, commuter or weekend adventurer the InForm fit system would be perfect.

X-Static Padding

X-Static padding brings some serious flair to the Giro helmet range with pure silver permanently woven into the fabric. Silver in fact has 100% natural anti-microbial properties that help to reduce odour and regular heat keeping your Aeon, Air Attack or Amare fresh.

In-Mold Construction

In-Mold is a process that permanently fuses the lining and the hard outer shell of the helmet. The process reinforces areas around ribs and vents. This added strength basically allows weight to be kept to a minimum, ventilation to a maximum and safety to a constant.

Hard Shell Construction

Constructing Giro helmets in this way is more simple than In-Mold and features in many of the entry level helmets. Safety is not compromised but is made up for by increased weight. The kind of weight noticeable to the casual cyclist - probably not; the kind of weight that makes the difference in crit races, training rides and mountain ascents - yes.

Wind Tunnel Ventilation

This idea is key in the design process of the helmet. Giro have spent hours ensuring the placement of vents is perfect to allow cool air to flow in, over the rider's head, and out again.

Roll Cage Reinforcement

A common feature in the Giro trail helmets - this is an extra layer of protection that gives that extra bit of confidence when throwing yourself down a new trail. Unfortunately it is a feature you hopefully will never need to utilise.
